In order to build an unstoppable movement to ensure educational excellence for all, Teach For America is seeking Managing Directors of Teacher Leadership Development (MD, TLD) in multiple regions. An MD, TLD leads a team of staff members charged with ensuring that the students in corps members' classrooms are on fundamentally different trajectories as a result of that experience, and that their corps members and other partners are inspired to become lifelong advocates for educational equity. Depending on the size of their team, MD, TLDs are in a position to impact the success of between 8,000 and 34,000 students.
Managing directors are senior leaders on their regional teams, ensuring that the region achieves its student achievement, corps member retention, and stewardship goals, in pursuit of their vision. The MD, TLD also supports the development and execution of critical efforts around diversity and inclusiveness for the team.! Finally, MDs support their regional leadership teams in reach! ing development, alumni engagement, and human assets goals, in pursuit of their regional vision. The MD, TLD reports to the Executive Director and is a member of the senior leadership team.
Lead Transformational Change in our Classrooms
Hold a compelling vision focused on maximizing the region's impact on students' immediate academic success and long-term opportunities in life
Inspire your team to internalize the possibility of achieving ambitious goals related to student outcomes, realize their potential to set students on a dramatically different life trajectory, and claim their role as leaders in the movement for educational equity (10%)
Work closely with regional leadership to shape and enact your region's strategy to bring its vision to life and achieve ambitious goals (10%)
Cultivate good judgment in your team about trends and causes in classrooms (10%)
Lead your team to take actio! ns that result in significant changes in classrooms, thereby demonstrating results and putting kids on a life path that gives them the same opportunities as their more affluent peers (15%)
Develop a Successful Teacher Leadership Development Team
Cultivate, hire, and coach and develop a strong team (25%)
Ground your team in the region's vision and goals, and enable them to plan and execute successfully toward them (15%)
Create an inspiring and inclusive team and corps culture, grounded in the core values (10%)
Fuel the Movement for Educational Equity
Establish and maintain diverse school district and community partnerships that drive toward a common vision, goals, and values
Actively work to build authentic relationships with all stakeholders, and to realize our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
Encourage staff and corps members to regularly reflect upon and strive towards maximizing their impact!
Cultivate corps members and alumni in order to support a robu! st talent pipeline for staff positions in the region and throughout Teach For America (5%)

Teach For America corps member experience preferred
5+ years of work experience required
Strong instructional background and successful experience as a teacher
